1. About No Key Do Key

No Key Do Key provides mobile automotive locksmith and vehicle key services across Somerset and surrounding areas.

Services may include, depending upon the vehicle and circumstances:

  • Lost car key replacement
  • All Keys Lost (AKL) services
  • Spare and replacement car keys
  • Car key cutting
  • Transponder key programming
  • Remote key fob programming
  • Remote key fob replacement
  • Broken key extraction
  • Vehicle lockout assistance
  • Vehicle entry
  • Key and immobiliser-related diagnostic work
  • Other associated automotive locksmith services

Not every service is available for every vehicle. Availability can depend upon the vehicle manufacturer, model, age, security system, key type and condition of the vehicle.

2. Booking a Service

Customers may contact No Key Do Key by telephone, email, WhatsApp, website enquiry or another method made available by us.

When requesting assistance, you may be asked to provide information including:

  • Your name
  • Contact telephone number
  • Location or postcode
  • Vehicle registration
  • Vehicle make and model
  • Vehicle year
  • Type of key or remote
  • Nature of the fault
  • Whether any working keys remain
  • Photographs of the key, vehicle or relevant components where appropriate

Customers should provide information that is complete and accurate.

An estimate or attendance time provided before inspection is based upon the information supplied by the customer and may change if the actual circumstances are different.

3. Proof of Ownership and Authority

Vehicle security is taken seriously.

No Key Do Key reserves the right to request satisfactory evidence that the person requesting work is legally entitled to access or authorise work on the vehicle.

Evidence may include:

  • Photographic identification
  • Vehicle registration document
  • Insurance documentation
  • Proof of purchase
  • Company vehicle authorisation
  • Confirmation from the registered keeper
  • Other reasonable evidence of ownership or authority

We may refuse to unlock, produce keys for, programme keys to or otherwise work on a vehicle where ownership or authority cannot reasonably be established.

No Key Do Key may also refuse work where circumstances give reasonable cause for concern regarding unlawful activity, fraud or unauthorised access.

4. Quotations and Prices

Where possible, No Key Do Key will provide an estimate or quotation before work begins.

The price may depend upon factors including:

  • Vehicle make and model
  • Vehicle age
  • Key technology
  • Type of transponder
  • Remote functionality
  • Whether all keys have been lost
  • Security system fitted
  • Parts required
  • Programming requirements
  • Customer location
  • Time of attendance
  • Complexity of the work
  • Additional faults discovered during diagnosis

A quotation based on information supplied remotely may need to be revised after physical inspection of the vehicle.

Where additional work or parts are identified, we will normally explain these before proceeding wherever reasonably practical.

5. Call-Out and Attendance Charges

A call-out or attendance charge may apply depending upon the location, distance travelled, time of attendance and service requested.

Where a customer has agreed to an attendance or call-out charge, this may remain payable if:

  • The vehicle information supplied was incorrect;
  • The vehicle is no longer at the agreed location;
  • Access to the vehicle cannot be provided;
  • The customer is not present;
  • Ownership or authority cannot be established;
  • The customer decides not to proceed after attendance;
  • Previously undisclosed vehicle faults prevent the requested work;
  • Work cannot reasonably be completed because of circumstances outside our control.

Any applicable charge should be explained before attendance wherever reasonably possible.

6. Vehicle Key Cutting and Programming

Modern vehicle keys can contain mechanical, electronic and security components.

Key programming may involve interaction with the vehicle’s:

  • Immobiliser
  • Body control module
  • ECU
  • Security system
  • Remote locking system
  • Keyless entry system
  • Other electronic control modules

Although appropriate care will be taken, successful programming depends upon the vehicle being in suitable condition.

Existing electrical, software, immobiliser, battery, wiring, control-module or previous-repair faults may prevent successful programming.

7. Existing Vehicle Faults

Customers must inform No Key Do Key of any known vehicle faults which may affect the requested work.

No Key Do Key cannot accept responsibility for an existing defect that was present before our work commenced.

Examples may include:

  • Damaged locks
  • Faulty ignition barrels
  • Worn keys
  • Damaged wiring
  • Weak or defective vehicle batteries
  • Immobiliser faults
  • ECU or module faults
  • Water damage
  • Previous unsuccessful programming
  • Aftermarket security systems
  • Previously modified electronics
  • Existing diagnostic fault codes

If an existing fault becomes apparent during our work, we will explain the situation where reasonably possible.

8. Vehicle Entry and Lockout Services

Where a customer is locked out of a vehicle, No Key Do Key will use an appropriate method of gaining access based upon the vehicle and circumstances.

Every reasonable effort will be made to use techniques intended to minimise damage.

However, some vehicles, previously damaged locks, non-standard security systems or unusual circumstances may require alternative methods.

Any significant risk identified before proceeding will normally be discussed with the customer.

9. Broken Key Extraction

Broken keys can sometimes be removed from vehicle locks or ignition systems without replacing the lock.

However, extraction may not be possible where:

  • The lock is already damaged;
  • Part of the key is inaccessible;
  • The ignition barrel has failed;
  • Internal components are damaged;
  • Previous extraction attempts have caused damage.

If additional repair or replacement is required, this will be discussed where reasonably practicable.

10. Replacement Keys and Remote Fobs

Replacement keys or remote fobs may be original equipment, aftermarket or another compatible product depending upon availability, customer requirements and the vehicle concerned.

Where an aftermarket or compatible product is proposed, it should provide the functionality agreed with the customer, but appearance or construction may differ from the original manufacturer’s key.

Not every replacement key necessarily provides every function available on the original key unless specifically agreed.

11. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Providing accurate vehicle information;
  • Ensuring they have authority to request the work;
  • Providing reasonable access to the vehicle;
  • Providing a safe working environment;
  • Informing us of known vehicle faults;
  • Keeping children and animals away from the immediate working area;
  • Ensuring the vehicle is legally and safely positioned;
  • Checking the completed key or remote before the technician leaves where reasonably possible.

Customers should not attempt to move, start or interfere with a vehicle while work is being carried out unless requested to do so.

12. Completion and Testing

Where applicable, replacement keys and remote controls will be tested following completion.

Customers are encouraged to check relevant functions before the technician leaves, including where applicable:

  • Manual key operation
  • Vehicle starting
  • Central locking
  • Unlocking
  • Remote operation
  • Keyless functions

Any concern should be raised as soon as reasonably possible.

13. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due when the agreed service has been completed or when otherwise specified at the time of booking.

Accepted payment methods will be confirmed by No Key Do Key.

The customer must pay all legitimately agreed charges for:

  • Labour
  • Call-out
  • Key blanks
  • Remote controls
  • Transponders
  • Parts
  • Programming
  • Additional authorised work

Ownership of supplied goods may remain with No Key Do Key until full payment has been received, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Deposits and Special-Order Parts

A deposit or advance payment may be required where:

  • Specialist parts must be ordered;
  • A particular key or remote must be obtained;
  • Significant travel is involved;
  • The work requires specially sourced components.

Where an item has been specifically ordered for a particular vehicle, cancellation and refund rights may depend upon the circumstances and applicable consumer law.

15. Cancellations

Please tell us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.

Where No Key Do Key has already travelled to the location, incurred costs or begun authorised work, reasonable charges may apply where legally permitted.

Consumer cancellation rights

For some contracts entered into remotely or away from normal business premises, consumers may have a statutory cancellation period.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, qualifying consumers can generally have up to 14 days to cancel certain distance or off-premises contracts, subject to exceptions and specific rules.

Because automotive locksmith work is frequently required urgently, a customer may expressly request that No Key Do Key begins providing the service before the statutory cancellation period has expired.

Where the law permits, the customer may be required to pay for services properly supplied before cancellation. Once a service has been fully performed following the customer’s express request and the applicable statutory requirements have been met, the right to cancel may no longer apply.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory consumer rights.

16. Emergency and Urgent Work

Lost keys and vehicle lockouts are frequently urgent.

By asking No Key Do Key to attend immediately or begin work urgently, the customer is requesting that the service begins without waiting for any otherwise applicable cancellation period to expire.

Where legally required, appropriate consent regarding commencement of urgent work should be obtained.

17. Delays and Estimated Arrival Times

Any estimated attendance time is an estimate rather than a guarantee unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Arrival times can be affected by:

  • Traffic
  • Road closures
  • Weather
  • Previous emergency jobs
  • Vehicle breakdown
  • Availability of parts
  • Location
  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control

We will endeavour to keep customers informed where a significant delay becomes apparent.

18. Parts Availability

Some vehicle keys, transponders, remotes and components may need to be specially ordered.

No Key Do Key cannot guarantee immediate availability of every key or component for every vehicle.

Delivery dates supplied by manufacturers, distributors or couriers are estimates unless expressly confirmed otherwise.

19. Our Standard of Service

No Key Do Key aims to provide its services professionally and with appropriate care.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumer service contracts include a requirement that the service is performed with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts rights that consumers have under applicable law.

20. Warranty and Problems Following Completion

If you believe there is a problem with work carried out by No Key Do Key, please contact us promptly:

Telephone: 07788 828627
Email: info@nokeydokey.co.uk

Please provide:

  • Your name
  • Vehicle registration
  • Date of service
  • Description of the issue
  • Any relevant photographs or video

We should be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect an alleged fault connected with our work before another business undertakes remedial work, except where doing so would be unreasonable or unsafe.

This clause does not affect statutory rights.

21. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Subject to applicable law, No Key Do Key will not be responsible for loss caused by:

  • Pre-existing vehicle defects;
  • Incorrect information supplied by the customer;
  • Unauthorised modifications;
  • Previous defective repairs;
  • Failure of unrelated vehicle components;
  • Events outside our reasonable control;
  • Customer misuse following completion.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude a customer’s statutory rights.

22. Personal Property

Customers should remove or secure valuable personal possessions where appropriate.

No Key Do Key is not responsible for personal property left unsecured in or around a vehicle unless loss or damage arises from something for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

The latest version will be published on this website together with the date it was last updated.

Terms applying to an existing contract will normally be those applicable when the service was agreed, subject to applicable law.

29. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

30. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
